Stephanie Laranjeira

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Stephanie Laranjeira is a summa cum laude graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dance. While at SFA, she danced with the Repertory Dance Company under the direction of Heather Samuelson, Elizabeth Rhodes and Stan Bobo. Stephanie has performed works by choreographers Min Kim, Linda Phenix, and Meredith Early-Robertson at the American College Dance Association (ACDA) conferences as well as at the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (TAHPERD) convention. Stephanie is a recipient of the Lucille Norton Scholarship, Katie Garrett Norton Dance Award and of the Denard Haden Award. She has also danced with Dimensions Contemporary Ballet, founded by Heather Samuelson and Katie Parr, and performed in the Houston Fringe Festival. Her choreography has been performed and adjudicated at TAHPERD. Stephanie currently teaches dance at Newman Smith High School and directs Gallery in Motion Dance Company alongside Kathleen Carter.
